I think it means "sun" in the sense that it's the greatest source of light as opposed to darkness, but at the same time it may also mean "Son" as a reference to Christ, who is the opposite of a demon. I think that the word "Sun" in the song has a double meaning. Common sense would tell us that turning towards the sun would just burn us even more. However, dire consequences await those who blindly follow darkness without hoping to escape to the light, as suggested in "Fire coming out of the monkey's head".Īnother very interesting thing I noticed about the song is that the lyrics tell us to not burn ourselves by turning TOWARDS the sun. I think that while 'Feel Good Inc.' shows us that we can observe light while in darkness, 'Demon Days' reminds us that the light can be ours if are able to persevere.
